Free Gothic Remake lockpick solver. Solve lockpicking puzzles with fewer-switches, shortest-moves, and fast algorithm modes.

1Lock setup

Plate 1 is the bottom plate, so the list below is shown from top to bottom. Use -3 for far left, 0 for center, +3 for far right. Goal: all plates at 0. Left move increases position by +1, right move decreases it by -1.

2Interactions

Read each row like this: When I move Plate X, what happens to the other plates? Click cells to cycle: no effect, Same same direction, Opp. opposite direction.

3Solution

Enter lock data and press Solve.

FAQ

How do I solve lockpicking puzzles in Gothic Remake?

Enter the plate positions and interactions into the Gothic Remake lockpick solver. By default, the solver prioritizes reducing plate switches for easier in-game execution. You can also choose a shortest-move mode or a faster mode for slower devices.

What plate counts are supported?

The solver supports Gothic Remake lockpicking puzzles with 4 to 7 plates.

Does the in-game lockpicking skill change how I use the solver?

No. Higher lockpicking skill levels only reduce the number of dependencies between plates. You use the solver the same way, but entering interactions is usually faster and the final solution often has fewer moves.

What do “Same” and “Opp.” mean?

“Same” means the affected plate moves in the same direction as the moved plate. “Opp.” means it moves in the opposite direction.

What does "x3" mean in the solution?

It means you should perform that move 3 times in a row. For example, "Plate 2 → Right x3" means move Plate 2 to the right 3 times.

What is the difference between algorithm modes?

“Fewer plate switches” prioritizes reducing how often you switch between plates, then minimizes moves. It can be easier to follow in-game, but may use more moves. “Fewer plate switches (fast)” is a quicker version focused on reducing plate switches, but it is less optimized than the full version. “Shortest moves” guarantees the lowest number of individual moves and prefers fewer plate switches when several shortest solutions exist. “Shortest moves (fast)” is the fastest strict shortest-move solver, but it may switch between plates more often.

Can I share the solution with others?

Yes! Click "Copy solution" to copy the move sequence to your clipboard. You can paste it on Discord, Reddit, or Steam to share with others.

What if the solver takes too long?

The solver will try for up to 30 seconds. If it times out, try one of the fast modes or check the entered lock setup. A timeout does not always mean the lock is impossible — it may simply be too complex for the selected mode or device.

Is this an official Gothic Remake tool?

No. Gothic Remake Lockbreaker is a fan-made lockpicking puzzle solver.
